Only 7 places! I'm cable but not able if you follow me drift.

Seriously only runners and gunners should apply (you know who you are) us Monty/Rommel types who only think of moving the drinks cabinet 4 feet closer to Berlin of a night time should take a back seat.

Once this has played it's course we should deffo try and sort out an invitation only S&D tournie. With our über server we should be able to run 2 matches simon-taneously. What do you think?

I am definetely a "runner & gunner" but I also not the bestest TDM player in the toybox.

I am stepping forward to play, but if there are others better able (or cable) than me then not being selected will not be a problem.

hi im back

the team that was sorted and i posted the names on the wild bunches server last week was

maggot
trust
villan
russell
rab
falkwing
rincewind

I have since had this email from butch, basically saying could all the team register on their forum so that you can view the tournament section

---------------------------------
Here is are the final details for the tourny that starts on 8th November.
Please pass this info on to your relevant team Captains

1) Genocide Forum is up and we require at the very least ALL team captains to register on our site and access will be given to them as soon as they do so.

2) This forum is available to all Genocide players so any team member may also join if they wish.
I beleive that it is mainly TR players that will need to do this?

3) Full details on how to set up matches are also available in this forum along with the rules, team listings with players and all the genocide server details.

4) Each team has been given a "room" in this form which contains the email of the team Captain to allow for easy contact for match purposes, so Captains please confirm this email is correct after visiting the genocide section.

5) This team room can used to post messages to other teams in order to arrange matches if required or simlpy to leave messages.

6) Genocide server wil go "LIVE" on saturday 6th November to allow for ping tests etc. BUT no matches can be played until the 8th.

7) The Genocide page on our site will go "LIVE" tomorrow evening (4th November) which will give full match details with "play by dates" and will also carry the League placings which will be updated as results come in.

Any questions please feel free to contact me.

Good Luck to all the Teams and may the a great time be had by all......

Many Thanks

I'm all in favour of bottom-kicking.

May I suggest we get in a few practice nights at TDM as prep? I know I could do with it.

I'm particularly keen on this - I'm naff with a machine gun (well more so that with a rifle), and TDM is a mgunners game. Aside from practice I could do with pointers, I've emptied entire clips from monkey guns and failed to kill peeps. I would also welcome pointers on avoiding fire without getting accused of bunny tactics. :P

This said,

Can folks regard me as a reserve for this game as I may be on less than my usual wonderful form on this day. 8O Hard to believe I know.

Hi Russ
Just a note to say that the genocide league is up on our site and you will notice that each match has a "play by" date given to it.
This simply means that you must play on or before that date or you forfeit matches (see the rules)
As I side note it also means that you may play ANY match before it's given date even those weeks away??
your first 2 matches are due on or before the 19th November.

Many Thanks

yep.. the date 19th NOvember is simply the date you have to play it by so the match needs arranging with the other team

Russell is the team's captain and i think it would be good if Rince was vice captain to help arrange these matches if thats ok with everyone?

dont forget, all of the team can register on the wild bunches forum so they can view the posts and keep up to date with matches and arrangements

After the match against Frags R Us, I would say there's TDM tactics to consider too. Controlling a section of a map and defending it; pinning the enemy down to their spawn point that is difficult to defend, etc. In this context FRU used snipers to good effect too.

Hmmmm.

Further to references to our "slowness" and to Rince's post in the Gen forum I have a particularly dumb question.

How do you register in the TWB Genocide section?

I get the big table of games to be played and zilch else.

Do they mean join the TWB forum?

Sorry bout this - bad day, feeling particularly dense.

yer they mean register on the forum so they can add your user name so you can view and post in the genocide section i guess

it is optional but its probably good if everyone in the team registers just so you can check whats going on yourself, jsut in case you dont see russell or rince to keep you informed

Excuse me butting in.

HQ is good practice for TDM in that you need to work as a team to defend an area and hold the radio. Precisely what you should be doing in TDM.

One TDM method would be to have a defence and attack element to the team. If it's 6 v 6 then 3 defend a given point (near to the current spawn) whilst the other 3 seek out and attack the opponents spawn.

I agree that a dedicated sniper is needed though it has to be said that this person should not get hung up on his score, which though it hopefully is on the + side might not be numerous kills wise.
So Maggot you have nothing to worry about not being a perfect monkey gun sprayer your sniping talents will be an asset.

We can try a couple of maps in training tonight playing both HQ and TDM if we all agree?

Could we maybe try them also in Friday's TvsR clash, as I really should play sport tonight.

And thanks for the reassurance Echo mate

Speaking (I hope) on behalf of Team R I'd say we'd be up for that on Friday 8) <--now where's me white stick.
