Clan Motto and Insignia

do we need one if so what? A couple of us were talking last night about this. When it comes to a motto may I suggest that we have a think about it and have a poll to decide the best one?

As we have a rather dark and foreboding name maybe we need something with a bit of ironic humour? Or maybe we should stay on the same theme?

I'll start the motto idea rolling with this one which stays firmly in line with our Germanic clan name: Gott mit uns!
Every German soldier had this motto on his belt buckle which looked like this

Anyone want to design an insignia that we can all vote for. The winner gets to brag about it and to share a crate of Aldi Lager with Benny. :)

Pups was the George Orwell quote that I think D.S has posted somewhere on the site about the boot stamping on a face for eternity.

I reckon as long as we steer clear of swastikas and the "ss" runes which tend to really offend some people then we are ok so bring on Iron Crosses and German Eagles etc

I'm ok about our tags being the same colour perhaps even or names should be more in uniform colour wise with each other? I'm not havin bloody pink or sky blue though! :)

Anyway it's healthy kickin ideas like this about.

Well, as you know, I like light green for the TR bit and pink for the Wags part, which I think look rather fetching and stands out well from the crowd.

BTW, I also like wearing pink shirts and ties (no, not together) at work..... :wink: Call me stylish if you want....

I will go with the flow on this one, but think that keeping it to 2 colours is best, with the TR bit one colour and name one colour, whether that be green and pink, light blue and red or what ever. 8)

I just think that PUP has been suggesting pink for ages and i also changed to it.... As i say, PUP does alot for us all, so simply, on this occassion i think we should go with her...i agree a team suggestion is good , but sometimes a thank you to someone else is paid in different ways , ie going with some ones wishes....its not about colours , its about being a fun clan, and PINK is fun and different. I have not seen any other pink tags anywhere....

it kind of came about when we was talking about what kind of insignia the TR might have, and i think it was hami that said 'we should have that big bird clutching something' ie meaning the german eagle... but ofcourse we all replied 'Big Bird clutching something???, you nutter hehe' as a joke like and it all sort of went from there

Well my opinion is we do need a banner. See when you click on another clans info at CODHQ? When you click on ours we have the standard banner that CODHQ provide, look at FFS clan for example and they have their own banner there (admittedly their's aint very good) but other clans have some good ones there.

Perhaps the bird can be incorporated at one end of the banner?

I'll be honest with you though but I prefer us not to have the swastika*, you could have the Iron Cross or summat else that is German but not connected to the Nazi party. You know, I'm sure, how many jobsworth pc types are out there.
