look in you're call of duty folder then in the main folder you will see config_mp and open it with word pad
try changeing these
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
seta com_hunkmegs
to half the amount or just over half that you have got
i,e 512mb= seta com_hunkmegs "350"
1gig= seta com_hunkmegs "500" or "600"
ps remember if you have dual channel ram you'll need to set it to "500" or just below it
l myself have this set to 700 because of 2gig of ddr400 on dual channel
tells the call of duty game
how much of your system's memory it can use remember not too much or the game will not load

seta cl_maxpackets
change this to 60-70-80 it will give you a little higher ping maybe 5-10 but you'll see a better smother performance online
(Note: Increasing this makes the game feel smoother, but can increase ping. Too many maxpackets on modem/ISDN can lag you out)
l've got mines to 80 but try 80 first

Number of snapshots the server will send to your client
