Ever heard of Oz Clarke? He's a Beer and Wine Guru, and I though you might like to see his list of top Eurobeers (spot anything interesting in there?):

Galahad Premium Lager Aldi’s 24 cans x 440ml for £7.99
Budweiser Budvar, Czech 33cl - £1.29 at Oddbins
Tesco Own Label Czech Lager 500ml – 99p
Weihenstephan Weissbier, Germany, 500ml - £1.59 at Thresher
Somerfield Bavarian Wheat Beer 500ml - £1.00
Timothy Taylor Landlord, UK, 500ml - £1.72 at Waitrose
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Blonde Ale, UK, 660ml - £1.99 or 4 for £3.94

Oh how they scoffed at Benny eh?!

Own brands are often great tasting as well as being good value.
The chains have the buying power to purchase great swathes of top quality vineyards and hops fields for their own labeled beers and wines. The brewers and growers are that way guaranteed of their dosh before it even gets inside a bottle or can.

If you are wondering how I know these things it's because I work in the retail measurement and marketing industry.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned that the clan is full of 'Euro Fizz' drinkers.... :o

Now, you can't beat a pint of Spitfire (brewed in Kent by Britain's oldest brewery: Shepherd Neame), or as they said in a controversial advertising campaign:

'No Fokker comes close'

Well I don't have much choice living in Euro Land.

A bit daring and Rab's-esque that campaign eh Wags? hehe

Sorry I agree with Wags,you can`t beat a Brit Ale .
Lager is just gas :D
I for one love love Theakstons "real smooth".
Or if you`re ever in South Devon go to Buckfast Abbey where the monks brew there own, look how long they have been brewing :D 8O

sorry chaps, but the best beer in the land is BASS, poured straight from the jug, no gas thingamy jig. Absolute HEAVEN sent--although Aldi lager in cans is well acceptable when picking off the odd 1 or 2 on s&d!! :D

Bullit my ole pal I do understand your choice of brew, but I think a drop of Marstans Pedigree is by far the greater ale in your area. And after living in a public house selling this medicine I should know :)

Does the 'Blonde ale' make you have any of those so called 'Blonde moments'..... :?
Personally I would rather have a good old pint of Theaxston XB or a pint of Timothy Taylors
