Hi folks,
As I mentioned in the cod2 section my pc went belly up in the week and today I've been enjoying the thrill (as in the long pauses) of a reinstall. Just to let you know that matters are proceeding and that probably sometime this year I'll be back in to die at various people's hands repeatedly. (Gawd this is slow) it's taken me pretty much half a day just to get windows in, online and sound and vision sorted (though I don't yet know if my mic works yet.)
Oh, well back to the pauses
ok maggot

takes me around 24-36 hours from scratch to get everything back on.... i guess i really depends on what your installing.
You really want to consider ghosting that image once yer up and running again!

I did research this a year or so back when I was debating ghosting before, but after a bad episode with one piece of ghost software that left an unusuable "virtual drive" occupying a goodly section of the hard drive I was a little put off. Also I've read a fair bit of bad press about certain ghosting progs. Do you have a prog in mind col, or one that you trust?
(Think I've tried Norton's Ghost and Acronis True Image, preferred the latter).
Anyhow, day 2 of the install and I'm hoping to put some games on along with my Nostromo etc today. So maybe around by tonight, or tomorrow....providing I can get things running ok

A little weird, thought I'd replied to this but it didn't show up (thought there might be some kind of delayed reaction)
I've looked into ghosting before col. Had a bad experience with Ghost or Drive Image (I forget which), have used Acronis before, but never had to use it's back up so I don't know if it is actually any good. Do you have a preference of prog for Ghosting?
I'm hoping to start reinstalling games shortly along with the Nostromo, TS and ASE.
