I realise that the issue of abandonware games in here may be of little interest, then again maybe some of you can think of games you used to play, would like to play still and can't find anywhere legit (not that that is a full stop on the search, but even when hunting through grey sites it's still not always easy to find the titles).

Anyhow some freinds of mine are trying to start a small campaign to draw some attention to the matter.

The have an article on Exiled-Gamers about it

and a petition up here

It went up today about 2pm and has about 330 sigs so far, which aint bad. Don't know if it will carry any weight or not, but it's worth a shot.

Check out the article for some nice pics of some great games too. Damn it I miss Eye of the Beholder and Freespace2 - proper games

turrican 2 on the amiga was just the dogs bollocks tbh.
it had good music, good graphics, and was non-stop action all the way!
sensible soccer was ace as well with the banana skin shots. :D
there was some good arcade stuff out as well. shadow warriors, final fight, double dragon, golden axe, operation wolf, any of the star-wars ones, 1942, wonder boy, gauntlet. the list is endless of good arcade games.
i used to love going the black-cat arcades in towyn and spending loads on them. :P

my all time fav game though has got to be bubble-bobble. it was just too addictive.

Russ, I ain't that pretty. :P

I have to say for all the fun I've got from PC games over the years, it's the Amiga games that preceeded it that make me look back and want to play them again. Sensible Soccer, Kick Off, Speedball2, Lands of Lore, Eye of the beholder, even some of the scrolling shooters that I was crap at, SWIV, Silkworm, the one with Bomb the Bass on the soundtrack.

I'm not as obsessed as my mate who wrote the peice, but I think it's a valid point to be made.

Russ, read an article recently in PC gaming mag that sensible soccer is making a comeback, revamped version, will it be as good as the original, knackered 2 sets of hand controllers playing that on my amiga.
If you need a fix of sensible soccer, cdwow had two game controllers for sale, with I think the sega megadrive version of the game, think they cost £20+ but just plug straight into your TV and off you go all the fun of what I consider to be the best footy game ever :D.

I'm sorry col, this loses something in translation.

Are we saying shit as in good or shit as in bad?

Oh bugger, better buy some game controllers, somehow I don't think a Nostromo will hack it.
Can't remember the controllers I used to use but they sat in the hand with a trigger activated by the index finger, while on top was a mini joystick for player direction and ball bendabilty, which you either used your thumb for or your other hand, I still remember the RSI ouch
