Well after all that naffing about and finally getting it working last night its now back as it was, it loads up the game and then promptly kicks me, i havn't touched a bloody thing and i'm really pissed off, first time ive been able to play in ages and me pc is playing up.

Ok, Col's sussed out what it was again, now if anyone sees a similar problem reported elsewhere this is what was causing my COD1 to crash, i have a utility running called ssc, its an ink manager for my printer ink, it allows you to use cloned ink cartridges in your printer and allows you to reset the ink counter on the chip on the ink cartridge, well this believe it or not was causing the problem, it was set to load on system start up and was in my system tray, once shut down, COD1 ran perfectly, so i have removed it from the system start up and now all is well.

NB, i don't think i can play tonight, i'm knackered, i'm back on 12 hour day shifts again, and as anyone who has worked numerous 12 hour day shifts on the trot, they don't leave you much drinking time :)
