underdog of the year - bbc2's lowest point ever

dont know what others think, please share your views, but i watched a little bit of this programme tonight and i was not happy

bbc2 used to be a trusted channel of mostly intellectual stuff.. yes sometimes it was very middle class which didnt suit my taste, but it wasnt lightweight chewing gum nonsence using C list celebraties and phone ins

i was very disturbed that bbc2 is doing this stuff, i dont want to be paying a license fee for this rubbish

i actually watch channel4, More4, film4 and the history channel about 98% of the time now, all free

uk people HAVE to pay £131 towards the upkeep of the bbc which i dont mind, so long as it makes stuff that a million other channels wouldnt have, like challenging, unpopular, new writers, political, news or minority stuff .. like it used to have. That programme tonight was aimed at an already flooded market of programmes for the lowest common denominator/ Sun reader/ mentally unchallenging chewing gum audience

has the bbc lost its way?

i think it has as i never watch it anymore and i used to watch bbc2 most of the time

Not that i watch TV much, there was a stage where bbc2 + ch4 captured my attention, bbc2 has went to the dogs of late and i have no idea who the target audience is (retards??). Not a fuckin clue what they do with bbc1, that pure pish all(most) the time, credit where credit is due, bb3 is on the money, it is more raw and someimes, dare i say it, funny, and in touch with real people.

For an org that is run from public cash (a lot of it), i expect more.... Something that really worried me was that when the bbc were payin off some history ppl(researchers), channel 4 reported that the number proposed equated to more than the whole whole ch4 staff all in.

Now, before any judgements are passed, they are the biggest broadcaster in the world bar none... and sometimes the quality (David Attonbourgh productions) is second to none, but it is few and far between. About time they got there fingers out.

TV is geting worse, and so is the price of a licence for crap like that.
What about the other load of crap they had on ITV last night, all to do with fat people in hospital,.......all of the programs now seem to be cheap reality shows, as this costs them no money to make.
As for me I dont watch that crap, give me national geographic, discovery, history channel, far better.

To think once upon a time they did produce programs with real life actors in, sad to see the state of the BBC now.
I dont mind the who dunnits sometimes, and did like the series New Tricks with Dennis Waterman, James Bolam, and to me was a breath of fresh air, except they seem to have stop making it now, it was good tongue in cheek fun. :)

TV equipment is getting better - Widescreen, HDTV etc., but the programmes are getting worse.
With cable, I hardly ever watch the 'old' terrestrial channels now.

Dragons Den is rather good, but good BBC progs are few and far between.

I'm on Sky digital and as with Villan hardly watch any Terrestrial TV - for me it's the History Channel (or should I say WW2 TV), National Geographic (errr The Shark and dangerous fish channel), Sky 1,2,3 and.... ahem, Kerrang.8) 8)

Dorcel TV and FreeX TV on Hotbird 13east has some excellent educational films on there 24/7. Although some of the audio is in foreign languages, you get the jist of whats going on.

Best regards

They must be the programs that show the ups and downs and ins and outs of every day life:lol:
