View Full Version : First S&D match,
well mine anyway. Considering we hadn't played S&D together I thought it went pretty well. To my mind we won at least 2 of the maps.
If the opposition had played S&D before (and I think they had) then we have nothing to fear.
We need that fine mix of aggression and stealth and on occasion we all gave that. We also need to camp more (even though I know it's not in many of our natures) especially when playing AXIS.
Frustrating that I manged to get on to TS could hear everybody yet I couldn't make myself heard. :(
Ironically when I had TS in voice activation mode I was giving everyone ECHO! As soon as Clanmans light lit up so did mine for some strange reason.
Trust, or anyone else who would like to volunteer, I would really appreciate getting on there again for 30 mins or so preferably whilst chatting on MSN messenger so that we can go through the settings.
Whilst still on the subject of TS we have got to get Russell on the air!
Being able to direct Russ would be like unleashing hell on any unsuspecting enemy. If you read this mate get your backside down to Argos and buy yourself headphones with a mic attatched it'll set you back no more than a tenner and they are decent quality as well. Ok you'll look like an air traffic controller (we all do) but we can't see you so we won't laugh!!
Thanks for the games lads it was a blast! :)
from what i could see the TR held their own admirably. Next weeks match should be better as i now have a bit more of an idea of how many maps we should play etc.
does your pc have internal speakers in the box? this could be causing the problems and you need to open the box and pull out the wires going to the speaker in your box, other than that go to control panel then sounds and go through the wizard. If you have sounds coming out of your speakers then this will get picked up by your mic and sent back to everyone else causing feed back and echo... anyways you will get it sorted im sure
nah, The only sound was/is coming through my headphones. Tonight I went through the sound wizard and it seems to be working fine. I have my headphones and mic plugged directly into my sound card which is an audigy pangalatic gargle blaster or summat.
I've chatted on TS before without a problem.
Maybe I've been using the wrong codec? I thought I was using GSM 16.4 KBIT. I can't be sure of that now though as it defaults to Celp something or other on entering.
Do you have "Wave" or "Direct Sound" ticked in the Sound Driver box?
Should it be "push to talk" or "voice activated" appypollylogies for all the questions.
I'm determined to get this sorted.
should be set to direct sound and voice activation... ok what about tomorrow night (thursday) at 8pm a few of us join TS and see how ya going on

i agree with pup and echo, we need to all get are butts on to TS, in the last S & D match , Russ and I worked a great little coordination and kicked a few butts between us....so if i could have spoken with him and others , it would have, im sure been a winning combination. With S & D we need this direct communications more than any other type of Team Play....
Has any one else thought of HQ as a Game play...thats fun!
Starlight.
Ps , this is from My WORK lap top as my Main Pc is in the garage having an MOT...lol
I'll be there from 8pm onwards.
HQ is good if played right. If you get 2 teams bent on taking and holding the radio it's fine.
However a lot ignore the radio and roam around as though it's TDM. The important thing isn't their team winning it's being on top of the board at the end of the game that counts even if their team lost.
In case I have probs tomorrow night (Thursday) on TS and you have MSN messenger you'll find me at [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Glad you sorted out the white text Pup, well done :)
ok ive had a little read about echo problems in teamspeak and basically it seems its caused by one of a few things;-
1. some Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound cards have a fault in them that causes it which doesnt look like it can be fixed
2. external speakers - noise is picked up by your mic and fed back
3. internal onboard speaker in your box needs to be deactivated (pull out its connecting wires... NOT THE RED ONE ..NOO NOT THE RED ONE! BOOM)
assuming you have checked and its none of the above then this narrows it down to your mic is not muted ... sounds daft but from what ive read this is the cause of the echo in 99% of cases
check the following settings:-
go into control panel and click on sounds and devices
click on Options and then properties
in Playback make sure your microphone is NOT selected
in Record make sure microphone is the ONLY one selected
now if none of the above works i can only suggest changing your name to ClearSound .. ya never know :)
LOL ok Pup thanx for the research.
I used to have a turtle beach card funnily enough, but that was yonks ago now. Spoke to a pal tonight on TS on another server and it worked a treat, that was using "push to talk"
External speakers are off only sound coming through is from the headphones.
I'll do the other checks via my control panel as instructed.
