Draw fps, fog at Hurtgen etc

Further to a discussion the other night about various tweaks here is a link to some known tweaks [Only registered and activated users can see links]
I am not going to pass judgement on any of these, use them at your own discretion. To my mind though if it's in game and you aren't adding third party programmes then it's not cheating.

I also read a rather interesting thread about certain Nvidia cards allowing a lessening of fog, we were also speaking about this option too.

Incidently Hurtgen on the screenshots in the thread is barely recognizable to the one I know!
I could also definitely see further on my older nvidia card than I can on my new rti 9800 pro, surely that can't be right?

id like to add a little tip that i find usefull while playing.
on your video settings turn your performances right down to the lowest settings.
this way a view of a shrub to you is the bare essentials , ie not a lot of leaves, but to someone who has got there details to the max that bush will be hard to see through.
this then gives you the edge because you can see them before they see you and thus start shooting before they know whats happening.
if people know this then fair enough, if you dont give it a try and find out :wink:

with regards to the nvidia thing; i have an nvidia card and do have my fog down to the min. weather or not this makes much diff i wouldnt know, ill change it to max for a while and see.

The reasons i put it to min are for hardware performance ofcourse 8)

i think Trust carries with him a small pair of shears which he uses to get a better view.

Hummm interesting.

I always have my settings maxed so it looks nice. I think I might try a lower setting to see what this does. It should give more frames too which should make it smoother in big fire fights... Always a bonus when you arrive in someones spawn area and want to take it... do you get extra points for that I wonder?

I'm experimenting on out training server and just changed:

/r_picmip 1 to /r_picmip 3

Then PB busted me out for cheating!

I wasn't even allowed to change /r_intensity! It said something about disallowing that!

Experimenting on... more results later.
