lets not forget that today is the rememberance of D-DAY 60 years ago.
so while playing as these soldiers on these maps lets not forget that to some, it was real-life.
i have always wondered what the grandad who fought in the war would say to his grand-child when he witnessed him playing these games.
would it take him back in time or would it sadden his heart?
i respect these people for doing what they did and though COD is just a game to a lot of us , it is also our countrys history and suffering.
to these men and woman i salute you, and god bless.

Hear hear.

There was no instant re-spawn for those poor sods, was there?

I've often wondered what I'd have been like in their boots - scared shitless and never got off the beach is my conclusion.

Lest we forget.

Indeed well said i could not agree more, as im sure you would all expect for me. It is nice to hear our generation and indeed those a liitle younger express such views.

I feel at this point however that i should all remind you that "our" forces continue to fight on many fronts, and have been engaged in action constantly since the end of the last great war. Now to compare the past with the last 50 - 60 years is ofcourse silly and i wouldnt attempt to do so. But a dead service man is a dead service man, the fact it happend last year and not 60 yrs ago matters not to his./her family. Our forces' continue to work on our behalf (weather we agree with the cause or not) often never reported upon by the media, i might add. I wasnt at normandy so carnt even begin to appreciate the magnitude of the situation and the feelings felt by those servicemen. But i have been around and seen things. Im sorry if ive gone on but i really feel we as a general public forget all to easy the sacrifice that continues to be paid.
by our young men and women. Ive seen death and picked bits of it up to put in a bag, its not nice especially when you knew them well.
