ok our mr rincewind was playing on a different server when he came across a Dawnville shed issue.. here is his report and the screen shots

"just sending you this screenshot i took while on a server.
it shows me on the Dawnville map taking cover from sniper fire in the wooden hut.
at this time the sniper was behind me in the church.
all of a sudden to my surprise i was shot from behind by him, apparently what i can only guess at through a knot in the wood
when i questioned this i got told it was a glitch....hmmm.
just incase ,you can put it on the site to give warning to the others for future refs."

i think we can conclude something i have thought for a long time.. sheds are evil

at first i thought i might of caught my head on a big splinter, but have tested the nasty wooden shed out and if you position yourself right against the back of it you can be seen by others outside and thus being shot in ze head :(
this is a glitch with the map and not as i first thought some kind of wall-hack or bullets that go round corners
but its usefull to know and someone else from TR mentioned another place that will do it also.
so while on Dawnville do not go for a wee in the shed. anyone who has found these little glitches please let me know so i dont look like a prat ,thank you.

im ok with being shot through wood because its realistic, but being seen through the wood is another matter.

Rince are you sure no one saw you enter the shed? Could it of been that a bit of you was sticking out of the shed, you know how you sometimes see a boot or something sticking out of a wall, thus giving someone the idea of firing a salvo into the back of the shed?

Anyway lets do some research next time we are on Dawnville, yeah?

Another glitch/exploit at Dawnville is this one [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Note that the player looking up at the church window cannot see anyone whereas he is in full view of someone looking out and downward from the inside of the church. So we could have a look at that one too.

while testing this theory out the player who shot me did say that he could see me through the wood.
another thing ive noticed is that while playing and the msn box in the corner pops up with a message you can, while its there see through walls.
unless this is just happening to me then i think cod has a problem with the game in that respect because it dosnt happen to me on other games.
next time we train i would like to test out the shooting through wood :D

That's why I don't play with MSN on. My screen goes crazy when a pop up notice comes on or a text box pops up. I can even see below the ground but there is no way I can use the glitch to my benefit, even if I wanted to, as I have a total lockup.

COD + MSN = Bad news, for me anyway.

you can turn the little msn pop ups off l use msn when playing COD l only keep the sound when someone has sent a msg on 8)

as reagerds to the shed thing, i think im right in saying with ref to the COD handbook enclosed with the game that soft cover ie "wood" is not a safe place to hide.

as far as seeing folks mmm i must agree i have at times seen folks where i perhaps shouldnt, not just on dawnville ?

the msn thing well ill keep an eye on it.

with ref to the COD handbook enclosed with the game
8O maybe thats why i didnt know you could shoot through wood.
i never read those handbook thingys and jump straight into the unknown.
maybe its time i did, thanx Big Joe for clearing that up. :D

If possible I always try and stand slightly away from walls so as not to give away any positional information. On training last Thursday we could tell that the defender of the radio was have way up the stairs in the church and on the left because he was sticking through the side wall slightly. Got me a kill that did. Keep in mind.

one other thing about COD is when someone is fireing in a house and if they are near the wall you can see thew flashing of the gun

to bad about that :?

thats my only thing that gets to me sometimes

but apart from that a classic :P
